We will teach everything you need to know about the high-tech world of aircraft electrical systems, instruments and avionics. You will get first-hand experience in handling flight instruments and controls in the aircraft cockpit, while learning to navigate your way through the skies.
Practical training in our first-class facilities is a key part of this course. We house the A320-Aircraft Cockpit Simulator Lab, Aircraft Communications and Navigation Systems Lab and the brand-new The ARCH hangar facility where you will become familiar with handling possible real-life situations.

These companies, together with the growth of air travel and MRO sector, create exciting opportunities for professional aircraft engineers.
The Diploma in Aerospace Avionics will prepare you for a career in the high-tech domain of aircraft electrical systems, instruments, and avionics. You will gain first-hand experience in handling flight instruments and controls found in the aircraft cockpit. You will also learn how to navigate your way in the vast airspace and handle the auto-flight communication systems that keep an aircraft safe during flight.
To complement classroom learning, you will have practical training in RP’s state-of-the-art facilities such as the A320-Aircraft Cockpit Simulator Lab, Aircraft Communications and Navigation Systems Lab, and the newly opened The ARCH hangar facility. These facilities mimic a realistic environment which you will get to familiarise and manage.
As you complete the Diploma in Aerospace Avionics, you have taken a step forward in becoming a certified engineer as the curriculum is conformed to the Singapore Airworthiness Requirement (SAR-66) module, specified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore for licensing of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
DAA students will get to enjoy the modern facilities and equipment in the A320-Aircraft Cockpit Simulator Lab, Aircraft Communications and navigation Systems Lab, Aviation Maintenance Practices Lab, and Aircraft Electrical Systems Lab.
DAA students will go through a 20-week internship programme either locally or overseas during their course at RP. They will get an opportunity to work/visit in world class companies like SIA Engineering, Rolls-Royce, ST Aerospace, Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Ltd (SAESL), Singapore Test Services, GE Aviation, Panasonic Avionics Corporation(PAC), Rockwell Collins, GE Aviation, Thales Solutions Asia Pte Ltd, ACE Services and many more.
DAA students will also have a chance to work on projects in collaboration with industry during the 3rd year of their studies. They will also have an opportunity to work on projects such as Singapore Amazing Flying Competition, World Skills Completion.
To prepare students for global economy, the DAA organises 2-4 student overseas study trips every year to countries like China and India. During such trips students get to visit the MRO companies and renowned universities. Such study trips broaden student’s perspectives and prepare them well for global roles in the aviation industry.
RP’s aerospace avionics graduates can look forward to excellent prospects in the aerospace and electronics industry. Within Singapore, there are potential employment opportunities in the MRO sector, as well as the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft flight components. Some job roles include:

You can pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at NUS, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering and Media at NTU, Avionics degree at Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) University, or in any of the overseas universities in (U.K, U.S. or Australia) such as Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (USA), University of Bristol (UK), University of Bath (UK), University of Leeds (UK) and Queensland University of Technology (Australia), University of Adelaide (Australia), and University of Newcastle (Australia).

To graduate with a Diploma in Aerospace Avionics, you must complete a total of 124 modular credits. You should be able to do this within three years of enrolment if you successfully complete on average five modules, or its equivalent, per semester.
