    The Social Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (SEIP) is a 2 day programme that seeks to connect the “Heart” to the “Hand” by promoting social consciousness and imparting enterprise skill sets to the secondary school students in Singapore. Structured based on a mix of experiential and workshop sessions, students will understand the importance of social entrepreneurship and how business practices are adopted to address key social issues both in Singapore and around the world. 

    Distinct features of the programme include:  

    • Experiential learning with a social enterprise to allow students to gain first-hand experience of social entrepreneurship
    • Adoption of the pushcart retail platform for students to apply their enterprise skills in operating a small business

    PROGRAMME OUTLINE  

    The Social Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme is structured based on 6 key sessions that include key topics pertaining to Social Entrepreneurship, Product Idea Generation and Evaluation, Marketing, Financing before setting up their pushcart business as seen in the programme structure below. 
    Session 1: Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation
    Session 2: Product Idea Generation & Evaluation
    Session 3: Marketing
    Session 4: Finance
    Session 5: Business Plan template
    Session 6: Pushcart Business Setup

    Key learning objectives include:  

    • Comprehend the concept of entrepreneurship as a value creation tool and its application to the social sector.
    • Differentiate between entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
    • Explain the various forms of social innovation as a means to solve social problems.
    • Derive ways to improve or differentiate existing products/services.
    • Apply marketing strategies to meet the needs of targeted segments/ customers.
    • Demonstrate understanding on the costs incurred by a business and relate this to the impact on profit and loss
