Republic Polytechnic Technology Forum 2012
In 2011, Republic Polytechnic held three separate Cluster Technology Forums (representing the Supply Chain /Logistics, Healthcare & Wellness and Environment Clusters) to bring together professionals from the relevant Industries and academia to share latest technology trends, insights and best practices in the respective cluster areas.
As 2012 marks RP's 10th year of innovation, we plan to celebrate it with a special Technology Forum which brings together the three Cluster areas to explore how Open Innovation and Open Collaboration models can enhance cross-disciplinary collaborations to deliver solutions to real life problems for large and small companies across the three sectors.
'Open innovation is a paradigm that assumes that firms can and should use external ideas as well as internal ideas, and internal and external paths to market, as the firms look to advance their technology' (Henry Chesbrough, 2003).
The Technology Forum will once again feature “Cluster Pavilions”, which will showcase RP's collaborations with Industry, through mechanisms such as Innovation and capability voucher (ICV), Technology Innovation Programme Expert Secondment Scheme (TIP-ESS), Joint Laboratories, etc. There will also be live, hands-on demonstrations of RP's innovative technologies and processes for each of the three Clusters.
