Polytechnic Course Intake and Cut-Off Points

The total planned intake of the five polytechnics for 2005 will be 4% more than that of 2004, up from 18,760 to 19,514. The intake places for each course and the 2004 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) cut-off points are given in the appendices. This is to serve as a guide for school leavers to make an informed choice.

A total of 122 courses will be offered by the polytechnics. 12 new courses will be introduced in the 2005/2006 session. They are:

• Chinese Studies (NP)
• Digital Entertainment Technology (NYP)
• Electrical / Electronic & Computer / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering (NP)
• Health Sciences (Nursing) (NP)
• Materials Science (RP)
• Music & Audio Technology (SP)
• New Media (RP)
• Product Design & Innovation (NP)
• Retail Management (TP)
