Admissions
Admissions into RP diploma courses are conducted through the various centralized admissions exercises such as
Direct Polytechnic Admission (DPA), Joint Admissions Exercises (JAE), Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE), Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE), Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE), amongst others. Allocation of places are dependent on academic merit and vacancies available at the point of posting.

Direct
Polytechnic Admission (DPA):
for applicants
who are interested in, and who have
the aptitude for applied learning,
to confirm places in polytechnic
courses prior to taking their GCE
‘O’-Level examinations.

Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE): for applicants with 2009 Singapore GCE ‘O’ Level Examination Results

Joint Admissions Exercise
Appeal (JAE Appeal):
for
applicants who have participated in
the recent 2010 JAE and wish to make
an appeal either for a placement in
a diploma course or seek a transfer
to another diploma course

Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE): RP will consider students who demonstrate a strong passion or aptitude through work attachments, sustained involvement in course-related projects, outstanding performance in competitions like the Maths/Science Olympiad. In addition, students with outstanding talents/ achievements in leadership, community service, entrepreneurship, sports, artistic and creative areas will be considered. Up to 5 percent of the polytechnics' annual intake of students can be admitted via the JPSAE. |
