    Overview 

    The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level certificate holders to apply for admission to diploma courses offered by the polytechnics. Admission through the JAE is strictly based on academic merit and subjected to available vacancies of the diploma courses.

    Eligibility  

    1. All Singapore Citizens (SC) or Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) with valid Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations results from any year.
    2. International students studying in a Government School, Government-Aided School, or an Independent School in Singapore with valid Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results from the preceding year.

    Application

    The JAE registration will commence on the same day as the official announcement of the 2016 Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination results. The JAE registration period will be held over a period of 6 calendar days (including weekends and Public Holidays), starting from 3.00pm on the 1st day of registration until 4.00pm on the last day of registration. The exact registration dates will be announced in the media together with the announcement on the release of the GCE 'O' Level Examination results.

    Release of Result  The outcome of your JAE application will be released on the date to be confirmed via the following modes:
    • JAE Internet System (JAE-IS)
    • SMS via applicant's mobile number (if provided by applicant during JAE)
    Do note that all JAE application fees incurred will be collected from the applicants by the institutions (i.e. JC, MI, Polytechnic or ITE) that the applicant is eventually enrolled in, together with other school fees after the exercise. You do NOT need to make payment during registration.

    Five JAE Appeal

    The JAE Appeal Exercise is open only to individuals who have taken part in the recent Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and wish to make an appeal either for a placement in a diploma course or seek a transfer to another diploma course.

    An appellant may make multiple amendments to his/her appeal choices during the appeal period. However, only the latest submission will be processed.

    All previous postings received under the JAE will be revoked should the appellant be successful in his/her JAE Appeal Exercise. Appellants are allowed to keep their previous JAE postings only if they are unsuccessful under JAE Appeal Exercise. Therefore appellants are advised to consider their choices very carefully before submitting an appeal under the JAE Appeal Exercise.


    Note 

    • Successful applicants will have to accept the course offered by enrolling in the course during the enrolment period. All unaccepted offers will be lapsed and the places freed up.
    • Meeting the criteria only grants an applicant the eligibility to apply for a course. Selection criteria for admission into our courses are based on merit and the planned intake of the courses. Admission is subjected to the vacancies of the courses at the point of posting.

    Five Enrolment 

    Applicants who are successfully offered a placement in RP are required to complete their enrolment processes to formally register themselves as an RP student.
