Our Campus

campus

Republic Polytechnic (RP) at Woodlands was constructed in six phases from November 2002 to December 2006. January 2006 saw the completion of the Republic Polytechnic Centre (RPC) and the multi-storey car park, and staff moved into the new campus with great anticipation in February 2006. When the first group of teaching buildings, or pods, was completed in April 2006, our students commenced their new semester on the new campus.

Situated at heart of the new campus, the Library was completed in April 2006 and a month later, the Sports Complex was ready for use. Our staff housing was ready in August 2006, fully furnished. The second group of teaching buildings was completed in September 2006; these will be occupied by the additional 4,000 students enrolling in AY07-08. The long awaited final phase of construction was completed in December 2006 and the team is orchestrating The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) to be the culture hub of the north. Our first convocation ceremony was held with much fanfare at TRCC in March 2007.

With the completion of TRCC, the focus is now on rectification works. Upon completion of these works, the campus is poised to receive the future intake of new students and will serve its eventual enrolment of 13,200 students by 2010.
