Republic Polytechnic wins POSB Everyday Champions '09 Organisation Award

The POSB Everyday Champions ‘09 Organisation Award is awarded by POSB each year to give recognition to organisations that build a sports culture at work for all employees, making sports accessible and available for all staff.
An organisation is judged on the activities held during the previous year to promote an environment conducive for employees to participate in sports or live a healthy lifestyle. This includes making provisions and encouraging staff to workout after work or during lunch and having free medical screenings. Organisations are also assessed on whether they have actively supported private or public initiatives on sports, healthy lifestyles through provision of financial assistance and other resources such as allowing the free use of their facilities for sports. The significant contributions towards cultivating a sporting culture in the organisation are also considered.

The criteria of the award is based on the types of activities organised and how the organisation supported staff participation in sporting activities. Other factors include sporting achievements, sporting activities that benefited the community outside the organisation and the resources contributed by the organisation to hold the events. Republic Polytechnic
(RP) did very well in all aspects and passed with flying colours!
This is the first time RP has won this award and we are very pleased to share this award with you. RP staff can look forward to more sporting activities, and we strongly encourage all staff to participate!
