PROFILE: MANDY LOW

Growing up, Mandy had always wanted to be a teacher. Tuition, child care and relief teaching were very much part of her school days. Little did she expect her dream would be dashed when the MOE did not grant her an interview.

So she ended up in the corporate world for 15 years. Citibank was her first stop, where she picked up proficient customer service skills. As she did not believe in selling bank products, she moved on to the dynamic media industry. There, she honed her people skills to bring in advertising revenue for the companies she worked for which included Singapore Press Holdings, MediaCorp, CNBC and National Geographic Channel. Her last journey at National Geographic, a great brand with incredible values, and her renewed relationship with Christianity, got her to focus on the purpose she wants in life.

So she set out to apply for a job in teaching, for the second time. Mandy subscribes to the PBL system in RP which she believes will give students a valuable understanding of the real world, allow them to think creatively and more importantly, help them become confident individuals who also embrace diversity.

She graduated from National University of Singapore and has a Graduate Diploma in Marketing and a Certificate in Counseling Skills. Currently, she facilitates the Sales Management Module and is a career coach and student interest group advisor.

Running and reading are her brain food, while trekking and getting lost in off-beaten tracks are the things she hopes she can do more. Most of all, Mandy regards her family and friends as her priorities. To her, family love and friendship are the greatest treasures one can ask for.
