As a learning institution devoted to the education of its students, the Polytechnic strives to ensure that its human capital is properly prepared and its employees are given ample opportunities to learn and upgrade their skill sets so as to keep abreast with advances in the industry. Learning is an important component of staff development for RP staff. It not only prepares staff to handle the current job well, it also equips us with the necessary expertise for advancement in RP. As an organization, Learning and Development would also help us to achieve our vision to be a learning organization as well as an institution of excellence. As we are confronted with competition and continuous changes, the importance of continuous education and skills upgrading to stay relevant and employable become evident and of utmost importance. Hence, the need for structured learning and development planning for all RP staff.
In recognition of its investment in people and commitment to systematic staff development, Republic Polytechnic was awarded the People Developer Standard by SPRING in Oct 2003 and recertified in 2006.
