About Centre for Innovation and Enterprise

The Centre for Innovation and Enterprise (CIE) aims to nurture innovative mindsets and instil lifelong skills that will allow students to flourish in the business arena. This is done through our unique One-Day, One-Problem™ Problem-Based Learning approach in our education pedagogy.

CIE offers Enterprise Skills which furnish our students with conceptual frameworks in organisational behaviour and Entrepreneurship which exposes students to basic business concepts and functions. For students interested to further their business knowledge, CIE also supports and offers a host of business elective modules to higher-year students from the various Schools and Centres in RP. Some of the modules include the following:

  • Business Finance
  • Business Law
  • Business Statistics
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Financial Accounting
  • Human Resource Management
  • Macroeconomics
  • Management Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Microeconomics

Besides classroom learning, CIE has created a number of platforms to promote Entrepreneurship mindset and training to all students in RP. A student-led entrepreneurial initiative, the SUI! Shop allows RP students to experiment with new business ideas in a retail setting. This will expose them to a full spectrum of establishing, managing and sustaining a real-life retail business. The Market Research Laboratory is a first-in-class laboratory set up to support research and development and curricular activities in RP. CIE also manages the Pushcart Platform where students can rent pushcarts at nominal rates to test out their business ideas on campus.

Students can also sign up with any of the 4 business-related Interest Groups (IG) managed by CIE:

  • InVogue IG
  • Investment and Finance IG
  • YES! IG
  • Marketing IG

The IGs offer students the opportunity to organise bazaar fairs, hear insightful talks by well-known local entrepreneurs, go on excursions to external organisations, and participate in business competitions under the tutelage of CIE staff.
