International Programme in Biomedical Sciences
About the Programme
The International Programme in Biomedical Sciences (IPBMS) is the result of a collaborative effort between Republic Polytechnic and the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, Australia. It offers polytechnic students in the field of biomedical sciences an additional pathway to gain a degree.
IPBMS admits students who have enrolled in the third year of Republic Polytechnic’s Diploma in Biomedical Sciences programme. These students will have to take specified modules during their three years at Republic Polytechnic to apply for admission to the third year of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science course at Monash University.
Studying in a Medical Faculty
As the Bachelor of Biomedical Science course at Monash University is offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, students will have the opportunity of working closely with medical researchers and practitioners in diverse domains of biomedical sciences where research is at a cutting edge.
Upon completion of the Bachelor’s degree programme, students who do well may go on to undertake their honours year. Students may also apply for admission to a postgraduate medicine programme offered at selective universities in Australia.
