International Programme in Biomedical Sciences

Pathway for Republic Polytechnic Students

The information given here is for students currently enrolled or intending to enrol in Republic Polytechnic’s DBMS programme.

Requirements for DBMS

To be accepted by Monash University under IPBMS, DBMS students will need to:

  • take "Option I: Biomedical Sciences" as their specialisation, which includes the following four modules:
    • A321 Proteomics
    • A322 Genomics
    • A331 Cell Cycle and Oncology
    • A332 Structural Biology
  • take the following as their elective modules:
    • A233 Pharmacology and Toxicology
    • A224 Recombinant DNA Technologies
    • A351 Medical Microbiology
  • obtain a GPA of 3.2 or better for the DBMS

Accelerated Scheme

IPBMS students will be advised to plan their activities to complete their programme within three years. In particular, SAS staff will assist IPBMS students to work on the Project modules during the vacation periods.
