About the Programme

To meet the growing importance of Singapore being the region’s logistics hub and supply chain nerve centre, the Diploma in Supply Chain Supply Management (DSCM) serves to equip you with in-depth understanding and broad-based knowledge on logistics and supply chain management. This, coupled with specialised electives based on your interests, will help hone your skills and enhance your position in the logistics industry.

DSCM also provides you with the necessary skills and practical knowledge in the areas of cold chain management, pharmaceutical and bio-chemical supply chain and retail logistics. The programme will focus on the integrated supply chain which has become increasingly important today.

Programme Objectives

The DSCM aims to nurture knowledgeable and enterprising young professionals who can apply their skills to the demands of industry. By the end of the course, you will be adept in the art of problem solving and will be effective learners in the ever-evolving arena of the logistics and supply chain management industries.

The programme will provide a well-rounded education comprising both technical capabilities and general know-how. Discipline and specialisation-specific modules will equip you with a solid understanding of engineering and business process flow, operations research, optimisation and inventory management. The programme will also give you a strong grasp of logistics planning and control, facilities planning and design, warehousing and storage, IT in supply chain management and procurement and supplier development. Hands-on session will be conducted in our simulated warehouse. General modules will help you prepare the ground for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, as well as train you in communication and lifelong learning skills.

Career Prospects

Graduates from DSCM can look forward to contributing to the planning, implementing and managing the integrated supply chain functions ranging from purchasing to inventory management to transportation in the industry.

Graduates may also choose to pursue further education. All our diploma programmes are designed to meet the requirements for advanced standing in local and overseas Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs).

Professional Certifications

DSCM students will get an opportunity to pursue professional certifications after completing certain modules in the course. For example, on completion of E355 – Cold Chain Management, you can opt to take up the Cold Chain Officer Certification, jointly awarded by SMa School of Management, Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and RP. Students who completed E356 – Pharmaceutical and Bio-Chem Supply Chain can also look forward to the Dangerous Goods (DG) Regulations certification by IATA.

Graduates from DSCM may also pursue internationally-recognised professional certification programmes after completing their diploma programme.

Industry Experience Programme (IEP) and Final Year Project (FYP)

DSCM students can look forward to a 4-8 weeks internship programme during their course at RP. They will get an opportunity to work in world class Logistics and Supply Chain Management companies like Schenker, Keppel Logistics, ST Logistics, Poh Tiong Choon Logistics, Logwin and many others. This gives them an avenue to interact with employees and employers of the participating company, and acquaint themselves with possible future roles in the company.

All DSCM students are also required to work on a Final Year Project (module code G301 and G302) during the last year of study. They will get an opportunity to interact with the practitioners and work on industry-related projects with outcomes that can be applied to the real world.
