Diploma in Sports Coaching (R49)
About the Programme
What comes to your mind when you think of sports coaches? A person who instructs or facilitates athletes in a particular sport? One who plans, organizes and assesses sports programmes? How about someone who mentors, counsels and motivates athletes? Try all of the above!
Sports coaches not only instruct athletes in the relevant sporting skills, they also motivate these athletes to strive further in both sports and life. Sports coaches also need to ensure the overall well-being of the athlete by minimizing the risk of injury and burnout.
This is where Republic Polytechnic's (RP) Diploma in Sports Coaching can help you if you see yourself coaching the next generation of Singapore's athletes. Who knows, they may even be the next sports stars!
Programme Objectives
So what will you get out of this diploma, you say? Well, apart from the exclusive and specialized diploma, you will be trained in both the science and art of sports coaching.

With the latest and most relevant sports and coaching skills and knowledge, you will be well-equipped to kickstart your coaching career!
Career Prospects
Singapore is set to go into sports in a big way. In 2010, the Ministry of Education (MOE) launched the Physical Education (PE) and Sports Development Framework. What this means to you is that there will be more jobs created for qualified sports coaches in schools, sports clubs and for individual athletes.
