Diploma in Sports & Leisure Management

About the Programme

The Sports and Leisure industry is a burgeoning sector and is quickly becoming an integral part of the culture and lifestyle of communities.  The Diploma in Sports & Leisure Management (DSLM) will provide you with opportunities to develop a set of core and specific skills to be active contributors in this growing industry.  The DSLM will provide you with specialised knowledge and skills in developing both local and international sports initiatives and leisure programmes.

Your Future Career

With an increasing number of leisure options, such as the development of mega resorts in the region, and the growing number of international sporting events being held, graduates of this programme are well positioned to play significant roles in many areas within the sports business and leisure enterprises.

Graduates of the DSLM may find jobs in the following types of companies and organisations: Singapore Sports Council; National Sports Associations; sports marketing; sports athlete and events representation and agencies; events management companies; sports public relations; sports retails shops (e.g., nutrition stores, apparel stores); fitness equipment & supplies companies; sports and leisure promotion service providers; private sports coaching schools; sports service providers (outsourced partners with SSC and schools), resorts, marinas, golf and country clubs, social clubs, fitness and gyms, health & wellness centres, sports clubs in organisations (including those whose focus is in workplace health promotion), specialists in the MICE industry (planning and promotions, marketing and organisers), cruise operations, grassroots organisations, community clubs and so on.

Graduates who wish to pursue further education must demonstrate academic competence and apply for advanced standings in local and overseas Institutes of Higher Learning. Outstanding graduates may be able to pursue a university education at the National Institute of Education, part of the Nanyang Technological University, or apply for advanced standing to reputable overseas universities.
