One of the six schools within Republic Polytechnic, the School of Hospitality (SOH) in collaboration with Raffles Hotels & Resorts prepares SOH graduates for employment into the fast-growing, dynamic hospitality and service industries in five diploma programmes:

  • Diploma in Customer Relationship and Service Management (DCRSM)
  • Diploma in Hotel and Hospitality Management (DHHM)
  • Diploma in Integrated Events Management (DIEM)
  • Diploma in Wellness, Lifestyle and Spa Management (DWLSM)
  • Diploma in Restaurant and Culinary Operations
    (DRCO) NEW!

For students who have a keen interest to pursue a career in the theme park and attraction industry, a new specialisation track in Theme Park and Attraction Management is offered for students taking DCRSM and DIEM programmes from academic year 2011/2012 onwards.

Programmes are taught by faculty members who are industry professionals with an average 14 years of industry experience. As a result, students gain real life insights about the exciting world of hospitality. They include past CEO of Pasta Mania, Executive Assistant Manager of the Merchant Court Hotel, Sommelier of Raffles Grill at Raffles Hotel and Les Amis Restaurant, General Manager of SembCorp subsidiary, Front Office Manager of international hotel chains, Director of Revenue Management (or Reservations) and distinguished professionals with an immense wealth of global experience.

This thoughtful selection of the teaching team ensures currency of knowledge and understanding of the rigorous requirements of the industry in the preparation of our students to be the top in the industry. In short the student will be taught by serious professionals with serious work and relevant industry experience at the highest levels in hospitality companies.

Students have opportunities to learn through hands-on practice at our very own on-campus hospitality teaching facilities. Experiential training culminates in our various work placement programmes, including a 24-week industry attachment stint with established hotels, events companies and multinational organisations, both locally and internationally.

SOH also provides advanced education opportunities for graduates of the diploma programmes who wish to further their studies. Many of our graduates are already pursuing their undergraduate degree programmes locally and overseas.

It is SOH’s vision to nurture our students into discerning, business savvy professionals with customer-oriented mindset, who can be the finest they can possibly be, and who will continually provide value-added services from the heart, no matter where their careers may take them.

We welcome you on board and look forward to preparing you to take on the electrifying challenges brought about by the exploding growth in the exciting hospitality and service industries. The question is, do you dare to be the best?
