Core ModulesThere are 3 types of Core modules: General, Discipline-specific and Specialisation-specific modules.
General modules aim to help you prepare the ground for generic skills such as cognitive, linguistic, entrepreneurial and personal development skills, as well as equip you with the foundational knowledge of culture, and technical communication.
Discipline-specific modules focus on developing your knowledge in the field of arts and its relevant technology, while Specialisation-specific modules are designed to deepen your understanding of the area within new media technology which you have chosen to pursue.
Elective ModulesStudents pursuing the Diploma in New Media programme are required to complete 2 Elective modules as prescribed in the course structure. Elective modules, where required, are designed to broaden your understanding of the hybrid discipline of technology for the arts.
Freely Chosen ModulesYou also need to take 2 Freely Chosen Modules, besides the Core modules, to complement your knowledge acquired from other parts of your diploma programme. This Freely Chosen Module may be picked from the School of Technology for the Arts and other Schools and Centres of The Republic Polytechnic.
