    Overview 

    Want to secure a place in Republic Polytechnic (RP) even before your O-Level exams? Get a headstart in your polytechnic education with the Direct Polytechnic Admission (DPA) Exercise which opens for application on 05 July 2012.

    Here’s what DPA can do for you:

    1. Secure a place in Republic Poly even before taking your O-Level;
    2. Gain first-hand experience of poly life before your peers with our tailor-made eight-week RP’s Preparatory Programme (RPPP); and 
    3. Get exemptions in selected modules in the diploma of your choice

    Eligibility

    • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who have registered to sit for the GCE 'O'-Level examinations in the year of the DPA exercise; and
    • International Students enrolled in government, government-aided and Independent Schools during the year of the application, and who have registered to sit for the GCE 'O'-Level examinations in the year of the DPA exercise

    Upon successful completion of the RPPP, students will receive credit exemption for one Freely Chosen Module.

    Application Stage 

    Students apply for DPA via an online application system.

    05 Jul 2012 (2:00pm ) –

    10 Jul 2012 (4:00pm)

    Selection Stage  

    Polytechnics shortlist and interview selected DPA applicants.

    12 Jul 2012 –

    13 Aug 2012

    Offer and Acceptance Stage                       

    Offers will be made to successful applicants. DPA applicants may view and accept offers on the online application system between 2.00pm on 17 Aug and 3.00pm on 23 Aug. A student who accepts his DPA Offer during this stage is guaranteed a place in the polytechnic course, as long as he is able to meet the admission criteria stated.                           

     

    Note: A student who accepts a DPA Offer cannot concurrently accept an Offer from a JC via the DSA-JC.

    17 Aug 2012 (2:00pm) –

    23 Aug 2012 (3:00pm)

    Withdrawal Stage 

    If a student would like to withdraw from the DPA Exercise 2012 to participate in JAE and JPSAE, he must submit his withdrawal before 5 Oct 2012 by 5pm.

     

    Students who have accepted a DPA Offer but do not withdraw by the deadline are deemed to have confirmed their acceptance and will not be eligible to participate in the JAE or JPSAE.

    Note

    The courses made available to applicants in this exercise are those which they have met the above criteria based on their qualifications. Otherwise they will not be able to select the courses during their application. Successful applicant will have to accept the course offered by enrolling in the course during the enrolment period. All unaccepted offers will lapse after Enrolment and the places freed up.

    Meeting the criteria only grants an applicant the eligibility to apply for a course. Selection criteria for admissions into our courses are based on merit and the planned intake of the courses. Admission is subjected to the vacancies of the courses at the point of posting.
