Gift Opportunities - Distinguished Professional Programme
|
Republic Polytechnic (RP) seeks to develop close
partnerships with a network of local and overseas Institute of
Higher Learning, Research Institutes and the equivalent related to
RP’s education disciplines. The purpose is to enable a vibrant and
healthy exchange of ideas, allow participation in curriculum
development and share expert opinions and views with relevant
industry sectors.
In this regards, direct contact and cooperation
with University faculty/department members, research institutes/centers
and prominent industry professionals will be encouraged by RP under the auspices of the Distinguished Professional
Programme (DPP). The DPP will in the long term establish and
strengthen close ties between RP and the relevant collaborator. The
overall intent of any collaboration under the DPP is to help build,
update or reinforce relevant education and technology competencies
at RP. It is anticipated that the DPP would consist of the following
5 broad categories:
- Distinguished Scientist;
- Distinguished Engineer;
- Distinguished Artist;
- Distinguished Academic; and
- Distinguished Technologist.
RP seeks sponsors from
organisations and individuals to fund the operating costs of the DPP.
While RP is continuously working towards building its knowledge and
competency base through staff recruitment and staff development
initiatives, this could be further enhanced through collaborations
with other experts and professionals, whether from academia or
industry to give our students a multi-dimensional learning
experience. The individuals identified under the DPP will
participate in student curriculum development, verification and in
give expert advice to project work that will help to build links
between academia and industry and create a strong foundation for
future alliances that will ensure long-term continuity in academic
rigour.
