General FAQ

Q: What must I bring for the Graduation Ceremony?

Graduands are required to bring along their Graduand Attendance Card and their RP Student Pass for identification purposes. All graduands who are attending the graduation ceremony are required to wear the Republic Polytechnic (RP) Graduation Attire.

Q: What time must graduands reach The Republic Cultural Centre for the ceremony?

To avoid delays and/or exclusion from the graduation ceremony, all graduands must comply by reporting at the Graduand Reporting Station (GRS) one and a half hour prior to the official start time of each ceremony. All graduands have to report during the stipulated reporting time as shown here.

Invitation FAQ

Q: When will I be given the requested Guests Invitation Cards for my guests?

The requested guests invitation cards will be given to the graduands during the sales period of the Graduation Attire (from 9 to 11 May 2013 at Agora Hall 1).

Q: Can I ask my friend/family member to collect my requested Guests Invitation Cards on my behalf?

Yes, you can. Graduands who are unable to collect the Guests Invitation Cards and their Attendance Card in person, may authorize a proxy to collect on their behalf. For verification purposes, graduands must print out and complete the authorisation form (please click here) for the proxy to show during the collection. The Polytechnic WILL NOT be liable for damage to or loss of any Guests Invitation Cards that has been collected by the graduands or their proxies.

Q: Do the guests need to bring the Guests Invitation Cards during the ceremony?

Yes, guests needs to show the invitation card before entering the theatre/studio. Each invitation card admits one guest. Guests without the invitation cards will not be allowed entry to witness the ceremony proceedings.

Q: Do I need to request for Guests Invitation Card for my guest?

Graduands have to request for guests invitation cards during the online registration period from 16 April 2013 (4pm) to 7 May 2013 (10pm). Please click here to access the "Register for Grad Ceremony" webpage in OASIS.

Q: Can children attend the Graduation Ceremony?

As a courtesy to the other audience and for the convenience of our guests with infants and children below 6 years old, they will be admitted to the TRCC Studio to view the live streaming of the ceremony so that they can attend to their child’s needs without disrupting the on-going ceremony proceedings.

Attire FAQ

Q: When will be the sales of the Graduation Attire?

The sales of the Graduation Attire will be held from 9 to 11 May 2013 at Agora Hall 1. For more information, click here.

Q: Will there be a re-sale if I missed the date?

No, there will be no re-sale of the Graduation Attire.

Q: Are there any rental services?

No, RP does not provide rental services for Graduation Attire.

Q: How do I make payment for the Graduation Attire?

Payment can only be made via NETS during the sales of the Graduation Attire at RP, Agora Hall 1. The cost of the Graduation Attire is priced at $28.00 per set.

Q: What is the dress code for the Graduation Ceremony?

The Graduation Ceremony is a solemn and dignified occasion that celebrates the achievement of our graduands. In this regard, graduands are reminded to dress smartly in formal attire. Male graduands are required to be in long-sleeved shirt and tie with neat haircut. For more information, click here.

Q: Am I allowed to try the attire before buying?

There will be a fitting station at the Agora Hall 1 during the sales of Graduation Attire. The Graduation Attire will be available in various sizes.

Q: Can I ask someone to purchase the attire on my behalf?

Graduands are encouraged to buy the Graduation Attire personally as they will be able to try out the attire during the sales and buy the most suitable size.

Transcripts and Certificates FAQ

Q: How do I collect my diploma certificate and academic transcript if I did not attend the ceremony?

You may collect your diploma certificate and academic transcript from the One-Stop Centre from 18 June 2013 to 31 December 2013. You are encouraged to collect your Diploma Certificate and Academic Transcript promptly. Please ensure that you have no outstanding fees/fines/loans before the collection.

You are not required to request for your transcript in the Graduates' Portal.

Q: Can I ask my friend/family member to collect my diploma certificate and academic transcript on my behalf?

Yes, you can do so from 18 June 2013 to 31 December 2013s. Your friend/family member will need to bring along a copy of your Identification card/student pass and his/her Identification card, together with the authorisation form (please click here) signed by you. The Polytechnic WILL NOT be liable for damage to or loss of any diploma certificate and academic transcript that has been collected by the graduands or their proxies.

Q: I have found a job and my company requires a copy of my Academic Transcript and/or Diploma Certificate before my Graduation Ceremony. What can I do?

The academic transcript and the diploma certificate will be issued to graduands during the Graduation Ceremony 2012. You are not required to request for your transcript in the Graduates' Portal. Meanwhile, you may obtain a copy of the Letter of Certification (LOC) and/or copy of the Statement of Results (SOR) for the completion of your diploma at the One-Stop Centre after the release of the results for AY2012 Semester 2.

Q: What are the documents which will be issued during the Graduation Ceremony 2012?

The documents issued to the graduands include:
- Academic Transcript
- Diploma Certificate
- Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) Record
- Student Life Activities (SLA), where applicable (To be confirmed)

You are not required to request for your transcript in the Graduates' Portal.

Q: Can I collect my diploma certificate and academic transcript if I still have outstanding dues with the polytechnic?

Graduands with outstanding dues such as equipment loans, return of library books, fines, fees, etc., would not be able to commence their online registration for the Graduation Ceremony until these are promptly settled. Upon settlement of the outstanding dues, please contact Help-Registrar@rp.edu.sg immediately for advice on Graduation Ceremony registration matters. Graduands with outstanding dues unsettled after 19 April 2013 will not have their names displayed in the graduation program booklet and may not be able to participate in the Graduation Ceremony 2013 proceedings.
