Music.republic :: Local Music Awareness Program

Conceived in September 2003, the Republic’s
Local Music Awareness Programme (Local.MAP) offers
an excellent opportunity for local bands and
artistes to come and express themselves to a
bunch of students who are eager to learn more
about Singapore’s local talent.
We are keen to help shape and develop the identity
of local music, and we believe that the Local.MAP
programme will serve as the perfect conduit for
local musicians to come and share their music,
thoughts and experiences of performing as musicians
on our sunny island set in the sea.
The line-up for the month of July are as
follows
14th July 2004 - 5pm to 7pm - Library ::
Drum and Bass Guitar Workshop featuring Brandon
Khoo and Kelvin Siow, 2 of Singapore's most
outstanding independent musicians.
20th July 2004 - 12pm to 1pm - Library ::
Dance and Soul DJ Workshop featuring Dean
and Kaye, a 1-hour up close and personal
session featuring a turntable fused with
live saxaphone performance guaranteed to
stir up groovy vibes.
28th July 2004 - 12pm to 1pm - Library ::
Ludwig Nuss Jazz trombone sessions featuring
Ludwig Nuss on trombone. Expect the library
to be filled up with soundscapes of jazz
in this exclusive sharing sesion.
