Music.Republic - the Republic performs at the Great
Singapore Duck Race!

  16 November 2003. The Republic's Rock Band was invited
by the organizers of the Great Singapore Duck Race
to perform a 30minute set, as part of the festivities
of the internationally renown charity carnival. Pumping
endless hours of practice to prepare themselves for
this event, the rockers of Jammerz Arena put up a
fine set of covers, from charming ballads from Tracy
Chapman to blistering rock numbers like Sweet Child
of Mine.
The appreciative crowd was treated to scorching solos
of guitarist Marc Lee, soulful vocals of Muhammad
Hafiz and Sofia, and the precise drumming of Syed
Hyder. The funky riffs of Don Chan and the running
basslines of our great showman, Alvin Ganesh complemented
the band perfectly.
Now that Jammerz Arena has conquered her first public
performance, we look forward to performing at more
venues around the island, to spread that one unique
Republic musical pulse.
