RP Student Comes In 4th in the Asian Youth Bodybuilding Championships in Vietnam

On 2 September 2006, RP student, Sheikh Muhammad Ally represented Singapore in the Asian Bodybuilding Youth Championships held in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.

Competitors hailed from 13 other countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

Sheikh was featured in the Bantamweight category (60 to 65kg). There was keen competition in the preliminaries. However, Sheikh managed to make it to the final 4. The final battle was against competitors from Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand for this category in the finals.

Eventually, Vietnam was crowned the victor with Malaysia as the 1st runners-up. Sheikh managed to come in 4th placing in this round.

In general, Singapore was crowned the 3rd best team award for the event with a total of three gold, three silver, two bronze and three 3rd runners-up awards.

This is a good result for RP’s bodybuilder as all the hard work put in at the gym, and having to juggle with studies at the same time, have finally paid off. Sheikh’s advisor, Mr Aldrin Ho, has since developed a high intensity training protocol for Sheikh to work out more effectively, in order to reduce the time spent in the gym so that he can devote more time towards his studies. The upcoming event for Sheikh would be the Asian Youth Bodybuilding Championships in Shanghai, China.

We would like to wish Sheikh all the best of luck, and this time, we hope he will be able to net a GOLD medal for his collection!

Congratulations to Sheikh for his endeavours! Well done!
