TRCC and Campus Arts Productions present Arts Platter

1. Title: Arts Kaleidoscope Date: 8 May 08 (Thu) Time: 12.34pm - 1.15pm Venue: South Agora

Synopsis: Catch dancers from Hip Hop, Indian Cultural Group, Malay Cultural Group and Social Dance IGs open the 4-part series of Visual Arts Exhibition, also known as Drawing Now:. 1st series of Drawing Now: Singapore Jamaica Fusion showcases art exhibition from artist Oneika Russell. All exhibition pieces will be displayed along the walkway of RPC and E1 from 8 May-12Jun 08. Watch out for them!

2. Title: ADHOC Date: 15 May 08 (Thu) Time: 12.45pm-1.15pm Venue: TRCC Studio, Level 2

Synopsis: The guitarist looks familiar? It's Heikal from OSG! ADHOC - the 1st RP fusion staff & student band group! With their deep love for music, the four-member band plays music from a wide range of genre. Entertaining the crowd is what ADHOC does best and 'having fun' while doing it is definitely the band's motto.

3. Title: Fusion Encore and Launch of Momentum 2008 Date: 22 May 08 (Thu) Time: 12.45pm-1.15pm Venue: South Agora

Synopsis: By fusing different art forms, Create IGs Capoeira & Beats Encore are here to create another crowd craze! To further hype up the event, five of RP dance IGs will also be joining them to launch Momentum 2008 - RP's 1st Dance Festival (28 & 29 May). Momentum 2008 – Republic Polytechnic’s 1st Dance Festival

Title : Momentum 2008 - Republic Polytechnic's 1st Dance Festival Date : 28 & 29 May 2008 (Wed & Thurs) Time : 8.00pm Venue : The Republic Cultural Centre, Theatre Ticket price : $10 per ticket

Synopsis: The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) is proud to present Momentum 2008 - Republic Polytechnic's 1st Dance Festival which kick starts from 22 May 08 with various fringe activities, and culminates in a major dance showcase on 28 and 29 May, 8pm held at The Republic Cultural Centre, Theatre. The week-long festival aims to promote various genres of dance and celebrates the level of excellence in dance from various schools and institutes of higher learning.

To create more hype and excitement, dancers from SMU's InDanCity, NUS Dance Ensemble, Hwa Chong Institution (College Section), Ngee Ann Polytechnic's NRA, St Andrew's Junior College, Tanglin Secondary School, Greenridge Secondary School, Crazy Children and Dance Spectrum International will be performing during the festival. Republic Polytechnic's five premier dance groups; the Modern Dance Group, the Indian Dance Group, the Malay Dance Group, the Hip Hop Group and the Social Dance Group will also be making their collective debut during the Festival. Mr Zaini Tahir who is the Artistic Director of NUS Dance Ensemble and the Festival Director of Momentum 2008 will curate the program, bringing together the different groups into a tapestry of dance, music and colour.

In addition to the dance showcase on 28 and 29 May, fringe activities like mass workout, dance workshops and movie screening will also be organised and screened over various locations within RP campus to further excite Republicans and members of the public.
