The annual NUS mass swim, also known as the NUS Splash, was held on the 20th of September at the NUS swimming complex.
The rules were simple. Participants were to swim as much as they could within 3 hours. Among the top prizes were expensive Speedo watches. One watch went to Dharsaka Tennekoon of Republic Polytechnic
(RP) who came second in the men’s open category. He swam a distance of 11.4 km (220 laps). Zhi Wang, also from RP’s Aquatic team, managed to swim an impressive 7.6km (152 laps). In the women’s category, Rachel managed to complete 7.5km (150 laps).

It was quite a challenge to all our swimmers to swim throughout the given 3-hour time limit. In the midst of cramps, aches and dehydration, the RP aquatic team managed to complete their swim.
We would like to express our gratitude to our teammates and captains for your support and guidance. We
will continue to train hard till we meet again next year.
