Engaging in Healthy Learning

As part of Republic Polytechnic's community outreach programme, a group of staff and students participated in Henderson Community Centre's Walk-A-Jog and dialogue session with RAdm (NS) Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Defence, on 27th June 2004.

The 100-men strong contingent started the Walk-A-Jog from Henderson CC and ended at Tiong Bahru Park. During the walk, the students had first-hand experience in mixing a healthy lifestyle with communication, with the residents of Tanglin-Cairnhill. After all, it was only 8 in the morning and the students were bright and chirpy and bringing the smiles to the residents.

Not only did the students and staff enjoy chatting with RAdm (NS) Teo, they also participated in the mini game stalls. To top it off, one of the students, Serene Chua, even won the first prize of the lucky dip. Now, if this isn't an enriching experience, what is?
