Matriculation @ The Republic

29th
April 2003 marked Republic Polytechnic's first ever
Matriculation Exercise. The Republic's first batch
of full-fledged students were about to embark on
an exciting journey of learning and growing with
the new poly.
As students entered the library, where the Matriculation
Exercise was held, staff briefed them of the financial
procedures as well as administrative and IT details.
The range of co-curricular activities was prominently
displayed on panels and students wishing to indicate
their interest could do that at separate counter.
The traffic was smooth with the students leaving
with goodie bags sponsored by various donors including
OCBC Bank and Starhub.
Outside the library, a festive atmosphere was created
by catchy music played at the concourse area. A mini
bazaar organised by staff members from the various
schools and departments added a dash of fun to the
Matriculation exercise. Up for sale were products
ranging from beach slippers and bikinis, to laptops
and bank loans, to used CDs and handmade flowers.
After having experienced RP hospitality and warmth,
students left with a smile, thanks to the efforts
of all staff who helped to make our first batch of
students feel at home.
