RP receives Meritorious Defence Partner Award

| Republic Polytechnic recently received the Meritorious Defence Partner Award in recognition of its support and contribution to National Defence. The award was presented to the Polytechnic by the 2nd Minister of Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen at the 2005 Total Defence Awards Presentation Ceremony on 22 July 2005.
During the ceremony, the Republic Polytechnic’s Deputy Principal, Mr Eden Liew, also signed a Declaration of Support Certificate to reaffirm the Polytechnic’s support for Total Defence.
Inaugurated in 1986, the annual Total Defence Awards recognize employers who play a leading role in helping the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) maintain a high level of vigilance and operational readiness. The Meritorious Defence Partner Award is presented to employers who show commendable support towards National Defence.
