EUREKA.01 SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM BRINGS TOGETHER BEST BRAINS IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES TO BROADEN MINDSHARE ON ONCOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE & MICROBIOLOGY DURING SCIENCE.04
13 September 2004 – SINGAPORE – Organised by Republic Polytechnic’s biomedical students, Eureka.01 is the first ever symposium of its kind to be held by students, for students. With "Biomedical Science, The Next 10 Years" as its theme, the best minds in the biomedical industry will congregate to provide valuable mindshare on current trends and developments in one of Singapore’s hottest growing sectors. This event is held on 17 September (Friday) in conjunction with the Science.04 month.
In the month-long Science.04 which is organized yearly to promote scientific discovery, technical innovation and biomedical awareness, Republic Polytechnic is the first polytechnic to organise a symposium to bring together youths who are interested in pursuing biomedical sciences as a future career. A panel discussion featuring prominent speakers and subject matter experts from A*STAR, the National Neuroscience Institute as well as the National University of Singapore are in the programme line-up.
Commented Dr Terence Chong, Deputy Director, School of Applied Science at The Republic, "To be able to collaborate so closely with local leading experts to provide cutting-edge insights into the world of next generation biotechnology is a great pleasure for us. I am also glad that this is an excellent platform for our students to see firsthand the wonders of being in the biomedical industry."
Held on 17th September Eureka.01 will be at The Matrix Auditorium, Biopolis@One-North from 8:30am to 5pm. This event will have guests from all secondary schools, other polytechnics as well as selected key industry players.
