Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Flyer Share Hope and Love with “Stories on the Flyer”
Sixteen Republic Polytechnic (RP) students from various racial backgrounds kick-off community-based programme, Project 50:50 with the “Stories on the Flyer” programme involving 25 children from Sunlove-Marsiling Neighbourhood Link.

The children aged 7 to 12 were entertained by stories penned by RP students while enjoying the scenic view in the capsule of the Singapore Flyer.

The stories feature young children as central protagonists and are aimed at bringing a message of hope and love (please see Annex I & Annex II).

Ms Jeanette Wang, a senior manager in the Centre of Culture and Communication, who is in charge of the project, said, “Through RP’s community outreach efforts, we hope to empower students to engage the community by helping the less fortunate and underprivileged, thereby building social bonds which connect the less fortunate to the community.”

Ms Patsy Ong, Singapore Flyer Executive Committee member, said, “Singapore Flyer is committed to be actively involved in community work. We are happy to collaborate with Republic Polytechnic on this initiative to provide personal touches and meaningful ways to contribute to charity.”

Ms Nicole Fernandez Francine, a second year student pursuing the Diploma in Integrated Events Management, said, “I do not wish to gain any form of recognition. All I hope is that they will keep this event and stories in their hearts as they grow up; and believe in themselves.”

Project 50:50, the brainchild of Singapore Flyer, is a collaboration between the Singapore icon and corporate sponsor - Face Bistro Pte Ltd to work together to promote social responsibility in this economically trying period.

This project is a new initiative by Singapore Flyer to team up and co-share with organisations to host meaningful events and activities for charities at the Flyer.
