For Immediate Release

All-night-long graffiti for charity and movie marathon

Project Dreamscape – a fund-raising event at Republic Polytechnic where dreams come alive on canvas.

On August 12, 2005, an artistic air will take over Republic Polytechnic as brushes dance and paint splatter alongside carnival stores and movie screenings through the night.

For a minimum donation of $50, participants (students, staff and members of the public) will get a 4 by 4 feet plywood board. With their own art materials, participants can transform the board into a symbol of their dreams from 4pm till 8am the next morning. Horror movies will be shown to entertain, or perhaps inspire, the artists at work. Selected artwork will be displayed around the campus, turning its landscape into a field of dreams.

Project Dreamscape is organised as part of the Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes Programme. This event aims to encourage volunteerism among youths, and at the same time unleash their artistic talents.

The funds raised will be for Republic Polytechnic’s Student Development & Welfare Fund. This Fund provides financial assistance to needy students and finances activities for students’ development and welfare.

For Corporate Sponsors:

Companies interested in creating brand awareness among students are also encouraged to participate in this activity. For $500, they will get a panel, and are free to incorporate their company’s logo in it. (Please see attached file for sample). For additional exposure, their panels will also be prominently placed along the very busy stretch of Tanglin Road bordering the campus.
