ROVING BUS COMES A-CALLING

Polytechnics team up to promote Engineering at secondary schools

Secondary school students now have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the wonders of Engineering, thanks to a Roving Bus powered by Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore and Temasek Polytechnics.

The colourful bus is packed with a host of exciting exhibits to keep visitors enthralled and entertained.

This interesting exhibition on wheels offers a fun and insightful journey of discovery based on the theme, Engineering: Passion + Possibilities. Friendly cabin crew will also be on hand to offer career and training counselling on this dynamic profession.

The Roving Bus is scheduled to reach out to about 80,000 students in secondary schools over a period of about nine months.

Presented by the five polytechnics, this educational project is supported by the Singapore Science Centre, SMRT and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore.

The media is cordially invited to check out the Roving Bus when it visits Juying Secondary School on Wednesday, 24 Aug 2005.

There will be lots of good photo opportunities. Mr Foo See Meng, who chaired the Roving Bus project, will also be available for interviews, if necessary.
