A Senior Specialist (Dance) with the Ministry of Education, Peter provides professional consultancy on dance issues to schools and arts institutions. He works closely with local and international dance groups, institutions and commercial organisations in creating platforms for dance talent and performance. He also organises dance camps, conferences, seminars, and master classes.
Beginning with ballet at National Junior College, Peter's dance journey has included training and performance in ballet, contemporary dance, streetdance and some cultural dances. He performed prolifically in dance productions in college and the National University of Singapore. Professionally, he has instructed contemporary and streetdance in schools, the HomeTeam NS-JOM Clubhouse, MOE Sports and Recreation Club, Civil Service Club and the ITE Centre for Music and the Arts.
His choreography has spanned platforms from Danceworks and Funkamania to the International Physics Olympiad 2006, SEAMEO Closing Ceremony 2006, MOE HQ events, Singapore Youth Festival, National Day Parade, the YOG 1-year Countdown Event 2009 at City Hall and the YOG 99-Day Countdown Celebrations at *SCAPE. His ensemble works, ‘Chasm’ and ‘Wreck’d’, staged at London’s public concerts, drew positive reviews last year.
Peter has judged at dance competitions and regularly guest choreographs and conducts classes for arts groups, varsity groups and schools.
