New Year's Day falls on 1 January 07 (Monday).The following Tuesday (2 January 07) will be a public holiday.
5 weeks Week 12-16 Wednesday 3 January – Monday 12 February 2007 Open House is from 13 January to 16 January 07. There are no classes on 15 January 07 (Monday) and 16 January 07
9 weeks Vacation Tuesday 13 February to Sunday 15 April 2007 Chinese New Year is from 18 to 20 February 07 (Sunday to Tuesday).
Good Friday is on 6 April 07 (Friday)

NOTE: The dates given are correct at the point of publication, and are subject to change.

Please note the following enhancements made to the new academic calendar:

1. On school days that fall on public holidays or non-school days declared by the Polytechnic, that day's lesson will be shifted to the next school day. The corresponding number of public holidays or non-school days declared by the Polytechnic will be made up for only at the end of the Semester, instead of the Term.

Example: A semester has 2 terms. If Term 1 starts on a Monday and there are 2 public holidays that fall on the school days during Term 1, the last day for that Term 1 would still end on a Friday. However, the 2 days that need to be made up will be carried over to the end of Term 2 of that Semester.

2. Traditionally, the Polytechnics plan for long semestral breaks (7 to 9 weeks), but shorter term breaks in June and December. Since RP does not have Industrial Attachment for senior year students, we will provide for longer June and December vacation (about 3 -5 weeks) so that students can find spend more time with their family and friends during the school vacation or look for temporary job placements
