MODES OF PAYMENT: INTERBANK GIRO FAQs

Q1: If my tuition fee is fully paid by CPF or other financial schemes, is there a need to apply for Giro?

A: Yes. CPF and other financial schemes can only be used to cover the subsidised tuition fees. In addition to the tuition fee, you are required to pay for other fees (eg supplementary fees) in each Academic Year. These fees which are not covered under any Financial Assistance Schemes will be deducted via GIRO.

Q2: How do I apply for a new Giro account?

A: You can get a GIRO application form from One-Stop Centre. Complete the form and submit it back to the One-Stop Centre.

Q3: Where can I obtain a copy of the Giro Application Form?

A: A copy of the application form can be downloaded here or obtained from the One-Stop Centre.

Q4: Do I need to go to the bank to have the Giro form endorsed before submitting it?

A: Yes, if your bank account signatory is by thumbprint.

Dateline for Payment

Q5: If I have arranged to pay my fees via Giro, how will it be reflected on the student bill?

A: On the tax invoice, it will be stated that your fees will be deducted via GIRO on the stipulated date. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in your designated account for the Giro deduction on the payment date.

Q6: What is the date for each semester's tuition fee Giro deduction?

A: The date for Giro deduction will be stated on your tax invoice sent to your RP email account near the start of each semester.

Q7: How do I change the stipulated bank account for the Giro deduction?

A: You are required to inform the Office of the Registrar via email at help-registrar@rp.sg and your bank. You must then re-submit a new Giro application for the new bank account to be used instead.
