SCHOOL FEES FAQsQ1: What does the school fee comprise of?A: The school fees comprise of tuition fees (full/ subsidised) and annual supplementary fees. The tuition fees are payable once a semester while the supplementary fees are payable once a year. The latter covers insurance, Students’ Union, student clubs and societies, internet, exam, sports and other miscellaneous fees. Q2: How much is the school fee?A: The school fee is made up of the tuition fee and annual supplementary fee. The tuition fees are the same for all full-time diploma courses. For AY2007/08, the annual tuition fee is about $16,000/=. After subsidy by the MOE Tuition Grant, the fees payable is as follows: Singaporeans or Singapore PRs : $2,100 per year ($1,050 per semester) for AY2007/08 International students : $2,310 per year ($1,155 per semester) for AY2007/08 The fees payable are adjusted periodically and students would be informed in advance of such changes. The fees will be billed on a semestral basis. In addition to tuition fees, students are required to pay the annual supplementary fees. For academic year 2007/2008, the annual supplementary fee is as follow: Singaporeans or Singapore PRs : $88.25 * Please note that this amount is subjected to change. Q3: How often do I have to pay the school fees?A: All students have to pay for their fees twice an academic year, ie once a semester (around March and September each year). Q4: Is there a difference in fees for different Full Time Diploma courses in the Polytechnic?A: No, a flat rate is charged for all Full-Time Diploma courses for the academic year 2007/2008. The fees are subject to revision in the subsequent years. Q5: What are the fees covered by the Tuition Grant or the financial schemes?A: The grant and all the financial schemes cover only the tuition fees of your entire diploma course. They DO NOT cover the annual supplementary fees and other fees or charges incurred during your course of study. In addition, the financial schemes cover only the subsidized portion of the tuition fees only. Q6: What is subsidised tuition fee?A: Subsidised tuition fee is the difference between the full tuition fee and the tuition grant amount from the Ministry of Education. The tuition fees for all full-time diploma courses are the same for all the five Polytechnics. Annual supplementary fees vary amongst different polytechnics. They will still be required to pay full school fees. Request for partial payments will not be considered.
