STUDENT PASSOverviewAll international students who are pursuing full-time studies in Republic Polytechnic are required to hold a valid student’s pass. A student's period of study in the Polytechnic is subject to the approval of a student's pass by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). Application for New StudentsTo apply for a Student’s Pass, he/she must first be accepted and offered a place as a full-time matriculated or registered student in Republic Polytechnic. During the enrolment exercise, he/she will be issued the SOLAR number for application of the student’s pass via Student’s Pass Online Application & Registration (SOLAR) at the ICA website (http://www.ica.gov.sg). Successful applicants will be issued an in-principle approval (IPA) letter by ICA through Republic Polytechnic for the collection of student pass at ICA. He/She will be notified through the RP official email account to collect the letter. After the collection of the student’s pass from ICA, students are required to submit a scanned copy of the student pass to the Office of the Registrar. Application for Existing StudentsAs penalties are imposed for overstaying on an invalid student's pass, students are advised to ensure the validity of their student’s pass at all times and to approach the Office of Registrar if an extension is required. The extension of the student’s pass is subject to approval from Republic Polytechnic. CancellationThe student's pass ceases to be valid once the student leaves Republic Polytechnic (e.g. due to graduation, withdrawal or dismissal). Students may surrender the student’s pass at the Student’s Pass Unit (4th floor, ICA building) or at the checkpoint when departing Singapore.
