RP Open House To Attract Even More StudentsOpen House has always been a special event on RP's calendar, but the 2012 edition took on more significance as RP is turning ten this year. This year's event was built around the concept of outreaching and convincing students to apply and make RP their number one choice among educational institutes. There were main booths set-up for six schools (SAS, SEG, SOH, SHL, SOI, STA), three centres (CCC, CED, CIE) and OSG to showcase the type of diplomas RP offer and its vibrant student life. A unique feature of this year's event is the Parent's Forum, addressed by RP Principal and CEO Yeo Li Pheow. The forum gave insights about the career paths and RP's focus on creating a nurturing study environment. Several members of the RP alumni also shared their experiences about RP's holistic development approach. It is no surprise that one of the highlights of Open House is the goodie bag, and this year's gift took the form of a shoe bag – a choice, according to Open House organiser OSG, which came about after a survey of secondary school students by RP's publicity team. Syaidatunnisa Binte Mohd Yusoh, a year one student doing her diploma in Business Application and student ambassador in this year's Open House, said, "It was my job to guide the secondary school students around RP at the same time explaining to them the courses available. The students really enjoyed the goodie bags and free cookies!" Other highlights provided by RP students to ‘wow' visitors at the Open House 2012 included RP's very own fashion shows at the STA booths as well as the special appearance of DJ - Shan & Divian, from 98.7FM who provided live coverage of the event. RP alumnus Mohamed Haiqal Mohamed Suhaimi said, "RP Open House committee pulled it off just great! Maybe next year, the entertainment could be near the entrance so that more people will be aware of it and then Open House will be even livelier!" |
