Procedural Labs

1. Aseptic Processing E41 Cleanroom
Staff-In-Charge: Dr Michelle Siow

Capabilities: The lab is equipped with a Class 100 laminar airflow cabinet, for the preparation of aseptic pharmaceutical preparations like sterile eye-drops and pre-filled injection syringes. There is also an isolator which is provide negative air pressure for the purpose of preparing mock up cytotoxic pharmaceutical products.

Major Equipment: Class 100 laminar flow hood, isolator

2. Biologics E41 Cleanroom
Staff-In-Charge: Ms Junainah Badron, Ms Eng Yong Yong and Ms Serene Choo

Capabilities: This lab is equipped with the necessary equipment for the small scale production of biotherapeutics.

Major Equipment: Liquid Chromatography Purification System, AKTAPurifier FPLC system with fraction collector

Current Projects Carried Out:
  • Production of monoclonal antibodies (PI: Junainah Badron, Eng Yong Yong and Serene Choo)
3. Clinical Chemistry W32F (W32S3)

Staff-In-Charge: Ms Aliza Ramli

Capabilities: This lab is equipped with the required equipment to perform clinical chemistry assays including point of care testing analysis.

Major Equipment: Variant Hb and Immuno electrophoresis system, Electrochemistry, Glucose and Lipid Profile Analyzers, Coagulation Analyzer, Open Tube Hematology System

  • Identification of Diabetes Risk factors in RP students (PI: Aliza Ramli)
