iChef Cooking Competition Semi-Finals Results
The iChef semi-finals cook-off on 12 November 2011 was very intense with some teams arriving at least an hour earlier to prepare themselves!
The rule of the semi-finals specified that the dish needed to feature sponsored ingredients including USA chicken breast meat, Naturel Oil, Woh Hup sauces and Earl Grey Dilmah tea leaves. The teams wowed the panel of judges with their ability to innovate and interpret the designated recipe, coupled with unique presentation styles.
Overall, it was an amazing day! All of the contestants did a great job under very pressured conditions with a large crowd including sponsors, other students, teachers and staff of Republic Polytechnic, in the gallery. Judges included Mr Yeo Li Pheow (Principal/CEO of Republic Polytechnic), Mr Heng Guan Teck (Deputy Principal, Student Services/Planning, RP), Mr Seto Lok Yin (Deputy Principal, Industry Services, RP). Dr Michael Koh (Senior Director, Academic Services, RP) and Mr Albert Toh (Director of School of Hospitality, RP) who were pleasantly surprised with the students’ enthusiasm and culinary standards.
