About the Awards | 2010 Recipients | 2009 | 2008 | 2006/07

Congrats to Jelisa Lim Ming Rui who not only graduated from Republic Polytechnic's School of Applied Science (SAS), she was also a recipient of the Outstanding All-Rounder Student (OARS) Award 2009. The annual event, organised by the North West Community Development Council, aims to recognise students in the North West Zone who are academically outstanding, inclined towards community service, leadership, the aesthetics and friendship.

Chew Yi Xian EuniceJelisa, who plans to further her studies in the area of Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne, Australia, sums up her experience at RP as "enriching".

Adds the former President of the Student Ambassadors Club, "RP advocates independent learning. During my three years, I learn a lot from myself, my peers (with whome I had to work closely with for group presentations) and my facilitators. I don't think I could have gotten that anywhere else.

"The Problem-based Learning (PBL) approach has given me the opportunity to be expressive and to learn things independently. This way, I benefited more than just rely on books and notes," added Jelisa.
