Implementing PBL: why is it so hard?

PBL was first introduced some 40 years ago and has been applied in many programs around the world since. The implementation of PBL is still a difficult issue, and the question which will be discussed during the presentation is: what makes it so hard to get a successful PBL program on its feet? We will focus on areas like organizational factors, cultural issues, but also on educational challenges.
