From 1985 to 1997 Marilyn was a member of the medical radiations group at RMIT. Since 1997 she has been at Monash establishing Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences and its professional programs. In 2001 Marilyn was awarded the Faculty Silver Jubilee prize for teaching excellence. In 2004 she gained the Monash University Vice-Chancellor's medal for distinguished teaching.
Marilyn has many research interests including educational curricula for health professions, clinical teaching and learning, and role extension for practitioners. She has recently been re-appointed by the Minister of Health as President of the Medical Radiation Practitioners Board of Victoria.
