Another Event to Boost RP’s Presence in the Clean Energy Sector
The Environment & Sustainability Technology Day was held on 16th Nov and the event has been a huge success with the participation from many industry speakers.There is no doubt that this event has brought together professionals from diverse areas in clean energy technology to share their useful insights on the huge potential on this sector.
 An MOU between RP and Fluke South East Asia was one of the event highlights and is expected
to add value to our curriculum and technology pathways.
 Mr Goh Chee Kiong (Director, Cleantech) from EDB who was the Guest-of-Honour clearly
outlined Singapore’s commitment towards the clean energy industry in the coming years
and reiterated that this sector will generate about $3.4b and 18,000 jobs by 2015.
 The keynote speaker Prof Milton Hearn (Director, Centre for Green Chemistry) from Monash
University shared his views on Green Chemistry and how scientists and engineers can recycle
waste materials to cater for the growing world population and scarce natural resources.

SEG also showcased 2 of its Innovation Fund projects and 1 Tote Fund project at the event. There is no doubt that that the Technology Day has given our staff useful insights into the trend of this high growth industry.
More than 200 participants from the industry and academia attended the event. Many of them shared their ideas and views on existing and future projects and expressed interest to collaborate with RP in many areas.

After attending the Environment & Sustainability Technology Day, many participants expressed their positive response on the good mix of academic and industry speakers which offered a very interesting perspective on the global and local trends in the development of clean energy technology.
This is certainly a significant step forward in RP’s efforts in strengthening our commitment to support Singapore’s clean energy roadmap.
