Another Innovation Fund Award for the Electronics Design TDC Team

Institute of Chemical and Electrical Sciences (ICES) of Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd (ST Kinetics) are the collaborators. The team will develop the technologies for a portable hydrogen generator and low cost fuel cell system. Methods to improve efficiency and durability of a fuel cell will be studied also. The ability to generate hydrogen gas on demand rather than storing it will contribute significantly towards the portability of fuel cells. This technology has the potential to make fuel cells usage safer in hazardous conditions as the leakage of large amount of hydrogen gas resulting from a damage storage tank can be prevented.

This project will give RP staff and students the much needed exposure to the various technologies in the area of fuel cell development. At the same time it will open up new possibilities for RP to play an active role in the green energy market and emerge as a leader in championing environmentally friendly solutions.
