From 30 Sept to 2 Oct 2009, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Singapore presented the GovernmentWare 09 seminar, in conjunction with Civil Service College (CSC) and Image Engine. This 3-day conference was aimed at raising the awareness of the latest ICT security threats, technologies, initiatives and best practices across the public and private sectors, and it has gained recognition as the local leading forum for ICT security. The conference began with an opening address by Mr. K Shanmugam, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs.

The School of Information and communication Technology (SIT) hosted their very first IT security Technology Day on 30th October 2008. Most of the participants were from the IT security related industry, namely, the Infocom Development Authority of Singapore, Cisco and CBL, who shared their in-depth knowledge with the audience. The various talks were aimed to highlight some of the best practices and tools that could help the participants to create awareness for their mobile IT data security and protection solutions. GOVERNMENTWARE 2008 Conference and Exhibition
A highlight for this year’s conference was the exclusive by-invitation only CXO Special Track workshop held on the 7th Oct 2008. This workshop was jointly conducted by MHA and RP staff from the School of Information and Communications Technology. The SIT staffs involved were Mervin Beng, Liew Beng Keat, William Kwok, David Leong, Mapel Yap and Felix Lee. Click here to read more.

CBL Data Recovery Technologies and Republic Polytechnic have
announced the signing of the first memorandum of understanding (MOU)
between the industry and a tertiary institution here that focuses on
research and exchange programs in data recovery. Under the
three-year agreement, they will jointly establish a competency
centre to develop cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions
