Technology Development

• The project aims to develop a working e-pedigree system prototype that is bar code compatible and is interfaced with GPS/GPRS tracking for pharmaceutical products and supplies application.

Deliverables

• Prototype of the integrated system:

  • Drug units that are bar coded and RFID tagged.

  • GPS device with location information updated according to e-pedigree standards

  • GPRS device with location information updated according to e-pedigree standards

  • Software that incorporates the use of e-pedigree standards for pharmaceutical products that is bar code and GPS location compatible

  • RFID reader and barcode reader gantry that can read the tag and bar codes on a case to associate an outgoing business transaction

  • A handheld RFID and barcode reader

     

• Test run of the system prototype on real life business process
