    Inbound and outbound processes were mapped out:
    Eliminate unnecessary tasks
    Reducing delays and duplication
    Time study data collected
    Identify bottleneck processes
    Identify time and cost savings
    Failure modes and effects analysis
    Identify potential failure modes of process, effect on operation and actions to mitigate failures

Recommendations

Operator write their name on QC labels
Removal of duplicate QC process
Order list for customer arranged according to operation’s product storage layout to reduce pick distance

 

Quantifiable results

Removal of QC process lead to174 man-hours savings per month
Shortest pick distance increase in efficiency of 30.33% per pick list
