Environmental, health and safety challenges abound in the workplace. In this module, students will learn to identify and classify the different hazards, from those associated with various solids, liquids and gases, to risk of fire, explosion or radiation, to exposure to ergonomic, electrical or biological dangers.
Students will become familiar with the necessary communications and standards set by the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA), as well as the proper use of personal protection equipment and appropriate emergency responses. The conducting of risk assessments in the workplace will also be discussed.
